These Terms and Conditions explain the rules and responsibilities that apply when booking a fitting or hiring a dress, accessory or related service from Charming Inspirations.
By booking a fitting, submitting a Fitting List or renting an item, you agree to these terms.

Rental eligibility
Rentals are available to clients who attend an in-person fitting. Rentals without a fitting are not permitted. Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during fittings, collections and returns.
Fittings and Fitting Lists
Rentals begin by selecting dresses online and submitting a Fitting List. You will then book an appointment through the online booking system. Appointments are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Rental period
The standard rental period is three days: collect the day before your event, wear the item for your occasion and return it the following day. Extensions require advance approval and may carry an additional fee.
Deposits and payment
A refundable deposit is required. The rental fee and deposit must be paid in full before collection. We accept cash or instant EFT. Deposit refunds are processed after the item has been inspected.
Please care for every rented item.
- All dresses are cleaned, steamed and inspected before rental.
- You are responsible for the item during the rental period.
- Do not alter, cut, iron, wash or dry-clean an item at home.
- Avoid perfume, self-tan and makeup transferring onto fabric.
- Return all items unwashed and in the condition received.
What happens when an item is damaged.
Minor wear is expected and will not normally affect your deposit.
Significant stains, tears, burns, missing embellishments or other damage may result in repair costs being deducted from your deposit.
Where an item is lost or damaged beyond reasonable repair, the replacement cost may be charged.
Return items by the agreed date and time.
- Return items to the agreed Somerset West location.
- Return items unwashed and in the condition received.
- Do not attempt to remove stains yourself.
- Late returns may incur fees or affect the deposit refund.
Appointments need at least 24 hours’ notice.
Fitting appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24 hours before the appointment.
The R150 fitting fee is non-refundable because your appointment time is reserved and selected dresses are prepared in advance. When you hire a dress, the R150 is deducted from the rental cost.
Deposit deductions depend on the notice given.
The cancellation period is calculated from the first day of the agreed three-day rental period.
40 days or more
Full deposit refund.
29–39 days
25% of the deposit is forfeited.
15–28 days
50% of the deposit is forfeited.
8–14 days
75% of the deposit is forfeited.
100% of the deposit is forfeited. Dresses cannot be held indefinitely without a confirmed fitting and deposit payment.
Tell us as soon as your plans change.
If your event is postponed, contact us immediately. A rental may be rescheduled subject to availability and a possible rescheduling fee.
A deposit may be held for a future booking where adequate notice is provided. Deposits are not transferable to another client.
The same care rules apply.
Handbags, shawls, scarves, gloves, shoes and selected jewellery may be available for rental.
The same payment, deposit, care and return terms apply. Damage or loss may result in part or all of the deposit being withheld.
Separate services have separate agreements.
Floral arrangements, event décor, catering and custom dressmaking may be available on request.
These services are priced and agreed separately. Booking an additional service does not change the dress-rental terms.
Please check materials before hiring.
Garments and accessories may contain fabrics, dyes, detergents or embellishments that cause irritation.
Clients should check materials during the fitting. Charming Inspirations is not responsible for an allergic reaction or sensitivity caused by a fabric, detergent, dye or embellishment.
Responsibility during the rental.
Clients accept responsibility for the safe use and care of rented dresses and accessories.
Charming Inspirations is not responsible for injury, damage or loss arising while an item is being worn or handled. Our responsibility is limited to supplying a clean, quality item in good condition at the start of the rental.
How personal information is used.
Personal details supplied through enquiries, bookings and fittings are used for communication, invoicing and rental management.

Book early during busy periods.
Demand is high during matric farewells, wedding seasons and year-end events. Early booking is recommended.
Charming Inspirations may limit the number of dresses prepared for one client to maintain fair access for all.
South African law applies.
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa and disputes will be handled under South African jurisdiction.
By submitting a Fitting List, booking a fitting or hiring an item, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
