Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Charming Inspirations.

These Terms & Conditions outline the rules and responsibilities for renting dresses, accessories, and related services from us. By booking a fitting, submitting a Fitting List, or renting any item, you agree to these terms in full.

Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.

1. Rental Eligibility

  • Dress and accessory rentals are available to clients who attend an in-person fitting appointment.
  • Rentals without a fitting are not permitted to ensure correct fit and prevent damage.
  • Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during fittings, collections, and returns.

2. Fittings and Fitting Lists

  • All rentals begin with the creation of a Fitting List on our website.
  • The Fitting List allows you to select dresses you’d like to try on.
  • Once submitted, you’ll be prompted to book a fitting appointment through our online booking system.
  • Fittings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Charming Inspirations reserves the right to reschedule or decline appointments in exceptional circumstances.

3. Rental Period

  • The standard rental period is three (3) days:
    • Collect your dress the day before your event.
    • Wear it for your occasion.
    • Return it the following day.
  • Extensions may be requested in advance and are subject to dress availability and additional fees.

4. Deposits and Payment

  • A refundable deposit is required to secure your dress. Deposit amounts vary depending on the dress.
  • Full payment (rental fee + deposit) is due before collection.
  • Deposits are refunded once the dress is returned on time and in its original condition.
  • Payments are accepted via EFT (bank transfer) or cash.
  • Refunds are processed within 3–5 working days after inspection.

5. Dress Care and Condition

  • All dresses are cleaned, steamed, and inspected before each rental.
  • Clients are responsible for proper care of the dress during the rental period.
  • Dresses may not be altered, cut, ironed, or cleaned at home.
  • Please avoid perfumes, self-tan, or makeup that may transfer onto the fabric.

6. Damage and Loss

  • Minor wear is expected and does not affect your deposit.
  • Major damage (rips, burns, stains, missing embellishments) may result in repair or replacement fees deducted from your deposit.
  • If a dress is lost or damaged beyond repair, the full replacement cost will be charged.
  • Clients are encouraged to treat rented items with care and avoid risky environments (smoky venues, outdoor events with dirt or grass, etc.).

7. Returns

  • Dresses must be returned by the agreed date and time.
  • Returns are made to 3 Vredelust Street, Illaire, Somerset West, or another location as arranged.
  • Dresses must be returned unwashed and in the same condition received.
  • Late returns may incur additional fees or deposit forfeiture.

8. Cancellations and Changes

  • Fitting appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Cancellations of reservation will result in forfiture of your deposit with the following terms:
    • Cancellations made 40 days or more before the rental date (first day of the 3-day period) will receive a full refund of the deposit.
    • Cancellations made 29–39 days before the rental date will result in forfeiture of 25% of the deposit.
    • Cancellations made 15–28 days before the rental date will result in forfeiture of 50% of the deposit.
    • Cancellations made 8–14 days before the rental date will result in forfeiture of 75% of the deposit.
    • Cancellations made 7 days or less before the rental date will result in forfeiture of 100% of the deposit.
  • Dresses cannot be reserved indefinitely without a confirmed fitting and deposit payment.

9. Event Postponement or Cancellation

  • If your event is postponed, contact us immediately.
  • Rentals can be rescheduled (subject to dress availability) with a possible rescheduling fee.
  • Deposits can be held for a future booking if adequate notice is provided.
  • Deposits are non-transferable to other clients.

10. Accessories

  • Accessories such as handbags, shawls, scarves, gloves, and shoes are available for rental.
  • We also have a small selection of jewellery that are available for rental.
  • The same terms for payment, deposits, and returns apply to accessories.
  • Damaged or missing accessories may result in partial or full deposit deductions.

11. Additional Services

  • We also offer floral arrangements, event décor, catering, and custom dressmaking (on request).
  • These services are separate from dress rentals and are subject to individual pricing and agreements.
  • Booking additional services does not alter or exempt the terms in this policy.

12. Allergies and Sensitivities

  • Some garments or accessories may contain fabrics, dyes, or embellishments that could cause irritation.
  • Clients should review materials before booking a fitting.
  • Charming Inspirations is not liable for allergic reactions or sensitivities caused by fabrics, detergents, or embellishments.

13. Liability

  • Clients assume full responsibility for the safe use and care of rented dresses and accessories.
  • Charming Inspirations is not liable for injury, damage, or loss incurred during the wearing or handling of rented items.
  • Our responsibility is limited to providing clean, quality garments in good condition at the start of the rental.

14. Privacy and Data Protection

  • Personal details provided through bookings or fittings are used only for communication, invoicing, and rental management.
  • Your information will never be sold or shared without consent.
  • Our full Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms & Conditions and is available on our website.

15. Seasonal Demand

  • During peak periods (such as matric farewells, weddings, and year-end events), demand is high.
  • Early bookings are recommended to secure preferred styles and appointment times.
  • Charming Inspirations may limit the number of dresses per client to ensure fair access for all.

16. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
  • Any disputes will be handled under South African jurisdiction.

17. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a Fitting List, booking a fitting appointment, or renting any dress or accessory, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with any section, please do not proceed with a rental or booking.
